When the PC, the Personal Computer, stands for today's information technology, then the CC, the Context Computer, represents an advancement of the current IT, which avoids its inherent problems.
Subsequently, we characterise under the heading IT Today the current IT and its weaknesses and shortcomings and justify why we feel a need for a new approach.
The basic rationale for this new approach, we describe under the heading CC- Concept.
Under the heading CC-Realisation, we depict the consequences for the design of a future IT.
Under the heading CC-Conclusion, we conclude that the transition from the current PC to the new CC does not require fundamental redevelopment, but can largely be based on already existing components.
Our intention is to contribute to the ongoing discussion of problems of today's IT as well as of possibilities to overcome them. For comments, suggestions and further contributions, we are grateful.
